Finding the top signal on the water…
Last updated: June 2026 - Muskoka Research Inc.
By using Nibi Metrics, operated by Muskoka Research Inc., you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Nibi provides water-level information and forecasts for general awareness. It is not an emergency-warning system and must never be the sole basis for life-safety or evacuation decisions. Always follow official guidance from Environment Canada, the U.S. National Weather Service, local authorities, and emergency services. Water conditions can change faster than any model predicts.
While we build on authoritative government data and work hard to keep it accurate, we cannot guarantee that every reading or forecast is complete, current, or error-free. Gauges fail, data lags, and models are imperfect.
You may use Nibi for personal or commercial monitoring of water bodies. You agree not to misuse the service, scrape it in ways that degrade it for others, or resell raw data in violation of the source agencies' terms. Enterprise and API use is governed by separate agreements.
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. You can cancel anytime; access continues through the end of the current billing period. Prices may change with notice. Metered services (such as the Enterprise API) are billed based on usage as described at signup. Some products — such as Watershed Reports — are one-time purchases, charged at checkout at the price shown.
Watershed Reports are commissioned analyses computed from public hydrometric records and delivered to your Nibi account, normally within 2 business days of purchase. Because each report is produced to your configuration, refunds are available only if you contact us before generation begins; write support@nibimetrics.ca promptly if you ordered in error.
Reports are informational analysis, not professional advice. They summarize what the public gauge record shows using standard statistical methods. They are not engineering, hydrological-consulting, legal, insurance, or investment advice, and they are not a substitute for a qualified professional where laws, permits, or safety decisions require one. Findings describe records, not causes or fault.
Some Nibi features — including report narratives and the Nibi Dispatch newsletter — use artificial intelligence to draft explanatory text. Every figure in those features is computed by our systems directly from the underlying records; the AI writes prose about those computed facts and is instructed never to invent numbers, places, or events. Content is reviewed before publication. If you spot an error, tell us at support@nibimetrics.ca and we will correct it.
We make a good-faith effort to deliver alerts promptly, but we cannot guarantee delivery — notifications depend on data availability, email and push providers, and your device settings. Do not rely on a single alert channel for critical situations.
Subscribing to the Nibi Dispatch is optional and separate from essential account email. Every issue includes a one-click unsubscribe that takes effect immediately. Promotional codes offered to subscribers are subject to their stated conditions (for example, first-time customers only) and may be changed or withdrawn.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Muskoka Research Inc. is not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Nibi — including any decisions made based on the information it provides. The service is provided "as is."
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
